[Things I Believe](06)
  1. 01

We know less than we think

    • We have no answers to the fundamental questions — mostly just generally accepted theories.
    • Too much of how we live rests on dogma.
  2. 02

Knowing the human brain means progress in every field

    • We still haven’t built AGI because we know too little about the brain.
    • Most of our cities still fail us for the same reason.
  3. 03

Our duty is to develop and preserve as much knowledge as possible about the world and our civilization

    • This is how we avoid an “inevitable” end — when the planet dies or another catastrophe hits all of humanity.
    • This is how we pass knowledge on to the next generations, and maybe to other civilizations.
    • This is how we make our species many times more effective.
  4. 04

Focus on opportunities, not on solving problems

    • Many problems are solved by new opportunities, not by work at small levels.
  5. 05

    Every minute should be used

    • We underestimate how much time — and how many actions — could be spent gaining new knowledge.
  6. 06

Cities should encourage the principles and work that move us forward

    • Through infrastructure we either push people toward harmful habits and covering basic needs — or toward collaboration and new discoveries.
